1929 - 1938 Paint Instruction Drawings
The Engineering Department of Chevrolet had draftsmen on staff that created engineering drawings of each car & truck. We were fortunate to find original artwork for many of these rare drawings. These drawings show the location of paint colors on the body. It's like a "Paint by Numbers" for your restoration. Also on the drawings are pinstripe details which include the location and thickness of the pinstripes.
Other details listed are dates when the drawings were modified and what was modified. Our drawings are digitally enhanced reproductions of the factory engineering drawings used by Chevrolet. If you are doing a show car or just trying to make your restoration as accurate as possible, you need this drawing to get the details right. Each drawing is printed on 12" X 18" paper, nice enough that it could be framed. (Not all body styles are available). We have a limited number of drawings available in the original engineering drawing size of 18" x 24" (Put an "L" after the part number for the larger drawings).
In addition to the Paint Instruction Drawing, for passenger cars we recommend the reprint of the 1929-1934 Duco Paint Specifications. This is a listing of passenger Color Combinations available for 1929-1934 Chevrolets. Each listing shows the color used on: Hood, Hood Molding, Hood Stripe, Wheels, Body Panels - Upper, Body Panels - Lower, Body Moldings, Molding Stripe, Instrument Panel, Window Offsets, and Garnish Moldings. This chart works in conjunction with the Paint Instruction Drawings. Both will be invaluable in making your restoration accurate!
